International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Marked annually on March 8th, International Women’s Day (IWD) also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality.
At PureLogic IT Solutions, we don’t need an excuse to shine a light on the work being done by women in Canadian tech. As a woman-owned business in a male-dominated industry, we lead by example. However, International Women’s Day provides a welcome opportunity to highlight those who should be recognized and celebrated.

Women in Communications and Technology (WCT) has been a leader in advocating the benefits of gender equality in the workplace. According to their 2020 report, the percentage of women in the ICT sector across all jobs in 2020 was 31.3{5c484a775a3443f9348dc5268ae5208dc26da0f6ee654b6b4c813ab72f716a47}, while women in technology roles were even smaller at 21.4{5c484a775a3443f9348dc5268ae5208dc26da0f6ee654b6b4c813ab72f716a47}.
