Picking up where we left off a few months ago, today we are highlighting one of our longest standing, loyal employees, Cheryl McKenzie-Cross.
Cheryl is a passionate lifelong learner that enjoys the pursuit of solutioning with her clients. Cheryl has a strong sense of community and a desire to help the less fortunate. She believes strongly in the golden rule – give unto others as you would have them give unto you.

What is your role and what do you do?
I am a senior sales executive. Helping my clients find solutions is what I do. I get real sense of achievement when I can help solve a challenge that they are facing.
What do you like most about your job?
Meeting new people, collaborating with the team on projects and building solutions for prospects and clients.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I absolutely love my Sales Career, it’s a passion, its not work for me.
Can you tell us a little about your background and what led you to PureLogic IT?
The first sales manager that I had when I started my career was Myles McKay. I started out in telecom selling networking equipment to the Federal Government and DND. From there I got into security and early internet. I co-founded the first privately held National ISP Fonorola iStar Internet. My reconnection with Myles brought me to PureLogic. Who keeps me at PureLogic is Coreen! She is has had a huge impact in my life and my career. She inspires my inner Ninja!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Anything creative – I love to swim, I love to paint, I love to write. I also have a passion for helping women whether it be volunteering, mentoring, or sitting on the team of women investors for SheBoot, a six-week-long bootcamp that prepares women founders to pitch their business and secure investment.
What do you see as the next big shift in technology in our industry?
An adoption of Robotics will be the NEXT …

What advice do you have for any young IT professionals in sales?
Your perseverance will pay off. Three no’s equal a yes, so keep up the cold-calling.
What new skills have you developed in the last year?
I’ve adopted a meditation method called the ‘Morning Miracle’. This has awakened a deeper sense of gratitude and sharper focus on what matters most.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I played minor hockey for the Richmond Royalettes, girls hockey team.
